Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah" is being added to the U.S. Library of Congress.  The late singer-songwriter's classic cover of the Leonard Cohen song is among 25 sound recordings being added to the National Recording Registry this year.

U2's 1987 album The Joshua Tree also made the cut along with Isaac Haye's "Theme from 'Shaft'" and Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Fortunate Son."

The list was compiled from online nominations from the public and the National Recording Preservation Board.  Twenty-five selections are made each year and recordings have to be at least ten years old.
